We are seeking an experienced and motivated applicant to join the Metropolitan North Region District School Sport team as a Senior School Sport Advisor. The ideal candidate will have experience managing sporting and/or recreation events and programs, be able to communicate and engage a range of audiences, connect with our stakeholders and be a passionate supporter for students of all ages to pursue excellence through the school sport program. The role provides expert advice to schools and district sport committees, ensuring programs are inclusive, well-governed and aligned to Queensland. About The Role The three positions will each support two districts across the Metropolitan North Region, based at school locations: Bay and Pine City and Central North and West As the Senior School Sport Advisor, your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to: Assist the District Chair/s to plan and conduct district school sport programs, including performing official duties at District and Regional Carnivals. Facilitate, promote and implement consistent, fair and effective student participation in organised representative sport within the three educational sectors (State, Independent and Catholic). Provide guidance and direction for teachers, and deliver induction programs, in-service and professional development to enhance delivery of outcomes-based performance. Develop and maintain collaborative networks, effective interpersonal relationships and productive partnerships to promote school sport, enhance program development, and maintain and monitor District School Sport programs. Contribute to and promote change in relation to the organisation and coordination of significant school sporting events and lead or assist in projects relevant to the operations of District School Sport. Strategically manage, prioritise and schedule work commitments to meet non-negotiable deadlines as directed by Representative School Sport calendars. Provide administrative support to the District Chair/s, provide advice to clients and ensure timely complaints management to promote a positive perception of representative school sport. Lead and monitor the digital operational platforms, ensuring compliance, accountability, communication and timely service delivery to all participants. Other suitable duties, consistent with the duties and responsibilities of the position as directed by the supervisor or nominated delegate. Highly Regarded Skills And Experience Demonstrated experience coordinating sporting or education programs. Strong organisational and leadership skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities. Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills. Understanding of governance, safety and compliance in school or community sport. Commitment to inclusion, equity and student wellbeing.
