As a Trainee you’ll be part of a dedicated team delivering high‑quality water and sewer services to homes and businesses. You’ll also play a role in protecting the environment by helping treat wastewater safely and effectively. What You’ll Learn How to repair water mains and replace valves Maintenance of sewer pump stations Responding to emergency situations Using IT systems to monitor operations Recording data and system readings for water and sewer networks By the end of your Traineeship you’ll have a nationally recognised Certificate III in Water Industry Operations and valuable hands‑on experience in a specialised high‑demand field. Your future in the water industry starts here Please note that to be a successful candidate for this role you’ll be required to complete a pre‑employment basic skills assessment and medical check (medical assessment will include a drug and alcohol test, sight and hearing functional and medical component). Successful candidates will commence employment on Tuesday 27 January 2026. Salary The salary for this traineeship ranges from approximately $31,288 to $53,196 p.a. in accordance with the Local Government (State) Award. Your salary will be determined based on your age, qualifications and any previous work experience. Superannuation (12%) is additional. An allowance of $95.34 per week will also apply (Trainee Water Allowance). Location Upon commencement your normal place of work will be the MidCoast Council Taree Water Services Depot Muldoon Street. You will also be required to be based from other Council sites across the MidCoast Council region. Tenure Full‑time 38 hours per week over a 24‑month period.
