Commercial Advisory is a Division within Investment and Technology, and works to plan for, design and lead major commercial transactions and deliver commercial and contract management services delivering innovative and value for money outcomes. About The Role *This is a 3 year Fixed Term role* The Project Governance and Stakeholder Manager will lead project management, governance, and stakeholder engagement for a major public transport recontracting project. Working closely with the Director, the role will manage schedules, risks, governance forums, briefs, government approvals, communications, and key stakeholder relationships to support successful project and branch outcomes. The ideal candidate has experience delivering complex, high-value projects in fast-paced environments, with strong initiative and the ability to work independently. Key Selection Criteria To be successful in this role, the ideal candidate will bring strong project delivery and management expertise, with the ability to translate strategy into actionable programs, lead complex schedules, and apply sound governance and risk management practices. Success relies on advanced critical thinking, problem-solving, and the ability to influence and persuade diverse stakeholders while managing competing priorities and driving collaborative, adaptable ways of working. We’re looking for someone who can navigate complex stakeholder needs, build support for key initiatives, and deliver high-value outcomes in a dynamic environment. Position Accountabilities Lead project planning, governance and delivery across strategy, transaction and transition phases, ensuring disciplined project management and achievement of key milestones. Provide high-quality strategic, commercial and transaction advice to executives, Government and stakeholders through clear reports, briefs, presentations and cabinet submissions. Manage governance committees and approval processes, maintain robust risk management plans, and ensure timely identification and mitigation of project risks. Oversee communications, engagement activities, procurement of advisors, budgeting, reporting and other key project operations to support successful outcomes. Build strong stakeholder relationships, work proactively with limited direction, contribute effectively within a multidisciplinary team and maintain accurate, compliant project records. Provide support to other projects and Commercial Advisory initiatives as required, with duties aligned to classification under Section 31A of the Public Administration Act 2004 (Vic). Qualifications Mandatory 5 – 10 years’ experience in a relevant commercial project / transaction setting A relevant tertiary qualification in commerce, finance, economics, business management, law, or related discipline. Experience working with State or Federal Government.
