THE OPPORTUNITY We're looking for a Head of Finance to join Baby Bunting and help shape our financial future. The Head of Finance is a senior leader at Baby Bunting, an ASX-listed retailer operating in Australia and New Zealand. As Head of Finance, you’ll oversee financial accounting, banking, payroll, accounts payable, and accounts receivable while playing a key role in commercial finance, performance management, and sustainability reporting. Here’s what’s ahead of you: Reporting to the Chief Financial Officer (CFO) , you’ll work closely with key internal stakeholders, including the CEO, Legal, ELT, Finance Manager, AP Manager, Payroll Manager, and Head of FP&A. You’ll be responsible for: Financial Reporting & Compliance – Leading all financial accounting functions, ensuring compliance with ASX regulations, and maintaining accurate financial reporting. Audit & Risk Management – Overseeing external audit processes, managing financial risks, and leading risk management frameworks. Treasury, FX & Cash Management – Managing daily banking, cash control processes, supplier trading terms, and foreign exchange risk. Sustainability Accounting – Implementing new sustainability accounting standards to enhance transparency and accountability. Taxation & Compliance – Managing tax obligations across Australia and New Zealand while optimizing taxation strategies. Leadership & Commercial Support – Leading and mentoring the finance team while driving strategic financial insights that support business growth. Payroll Management – Ensuring accurate and compliant payroll processing. If you’ve gotten this far, then you’re up for the challenge. I’m not going to give you the usual laundry list of requirements, but this stuff is essential: Proven experience (15+ years) in senior finance roles, preferably in retail or large-format operations. CA/CPA Qualified Retail experience Strong financial acumen with a deep understanding of financial accounting standards, planning, budgeting, and forecasting. Experience leading finance teams and collaborating with executive stakeholders. Exceptional analytical skills with a strategic mindset and commercial awareness. Ability to translate complex financial data into clear, actionable insights. Strong business acumen with a passion for driving performance and growth. It would be nice (but not essential) if you also have: Experience in ASX-listed companies.
