Health Manager Level 3 – Senior Analyst Programmer (Contract) Employment Type: Temporary Full Time Contract end date: 24 November 2026 Remuneration: $127,150 – $144,444 plus Superannuation Location: 1 Reserve Road, St Leonards NSW (hybrid working environment) Hours per week: 38 Requisition ID: REQ Closing Date: Monday 10 November :59pm About Us Centre for Health Record Linkage (CHeReL) at the Ministry of Health is dedicated to helping researchers, planners and policy makers access linked health data about people in NSW and the ACT. By linking multiple sources of data and housing a secure, high‑performing data linkage system, the Centre enables a better understanding of health and wellbeing and supports high‑quality research and health policy decisions. About the Role The Senior Analyst Programmer will build data applications to drive improvements in CHeReL’s data linkage systems and processes, support post‑project operations, and automate large‑scale data integration pipelines. Key Responsibilities Perform system development activities: design, build, test and implement high‑performance solutions, primarily on the Snowflake Cloud environment. Quality Control: ensure the systems and processes produce reliable outcomes by designing and building quality control metrics for data lifecycle processes, monitoring and reporting. Maintain Data Security and Compliance: undertake safe use of available platforms and ensure safe coding practices. Manage work: deliver projects assigned to you within agreed timelines. Reporting: provide regular progress reports to stakeholders as needed. Process Improvements: contribute to the development, testing and implementation of new data linkage and management and quality assurance methods to improve CHeReL’s services. About You Relevant tertiary qualifications with demonstrated experience working with data across health, retail and government sectors. Excellent communication skills – written, oral, interpersonal, and capable of communicating with both technical and non‑technical personnel. Proven ability to design, build tools and applications using modern data management systems and software tools such as Snowflake Cloud, SQL Server, high‑volume data processing, Python, Git, and cloud computing. Experience with orchestration, documentation and data modelling is essential. High‑level analytical thinking – define problems, analyse requirements, understand population health information, and address data quality issues. Experience collaborating with multidisciplinary teams on sensitive issues to achieve desired outcomes. Strong organizational skills – manage competing issues and ensure projects are completed on time and within budget.
