With a collaborative culture and a proven track record in shaping high‑profile development projects, they are seeking an experienced Team Lead – Design to join their Melbourne office. The Role As Team Lead, you will be responsible for leading and engaging a team of designers, overseeing delivery of intermediate to complex projects, and ensuring technical excellence across all outputs. You will play a key role in resource planning, mentoring, and client engagement, while also contributing to strategic planning and continuous improvement of design standards. This role offers significant autonomy and visibility, with a clear pathway into broader organisational influence and leadership. Key Responsibilities Lead, manage, and mentor a team of designers, fostering accountability and high performance. Oversee design programmes, project resourcing, and delivery to ensure quality and timeliness. Undertake detailed design and master planning on a variety of complex projects. Review and verify engineering outputs, including plans, reports, and modelling. Manage client relationships and represent the consultancy with external stakeholders. Contribute to strategic planning, design innovation, and process improvement. Conduct performance reviews, ensuring development, training, and support for your team. Participate in leadership, resource, and budget meetings. About You Bachelor of Engineering (Civil) or equivalent. Registered and Chartered Engineer with current MRWA Das accreditation. At least 8 years' local experience, including significant team leadership exposure. Advanced technical knowledge across specialist areas such as sports, VicRoads, WSUD, and complex modelling. Strong office management, leadership, and mentoring skills. Excellent communication skills with proven ability to engage clients and stakeholders. Permanent permission to work in Australia.
