Lovely gentleman in Wodonga Aged Care would love a new friend for visit and chats. He loves a chat and used to drive trucks. Make a difference Join our visiting team. Flexible times to suit you Volunteering with Elder Rights Australia helps improve the health and wellbeing of older Victorians. It’s also a great opportunity for you to gain personal satisfaction, contribute your talents and experience and gain new skills. Responsibilities Visit with an older person at least fortnightly (weekly is preferred). Engage in varied activities to suit both parties, such as playing a game, having a chat, taking a gentle walk, reading or listening to music. Engage, communicate, and receive support from your program officer. Complete simple monthly surveys. Qualifications Must be 18+. Genuine interest in easing loneliness in older people. Empathy and compassion. Ability to actively listen and engage with older people. Ability to maintain clear boundaries and confidentiality. Reliable, flexible and confident to work independently without direct supervision, with the ability to seek support and guidance as required. Benefits to you Improved self‑confidence and self‑esteem.
