About The Facility Our major sites include University Hospital Geelong in Geelong’s CBD, the McKellar Centre precinct in North Geelong, Barwon Health North in Norlane, and residential aged care facilities spanning the region. Comprehensive mental health, community health and dental services are delivered through various programs across the Barwon South West Region, including Torquay and Colac. The Barwon Health Intensive Care Unit (ICU) is a 24‑bed ICU, providing tertiary critical care services to the Barwon South Western region. The ICU cares for medical, surgical, and cardiothoracic adults, as well as adult ECMO and critically ill children. The ICU is actively involved in clinical research, critical care education for Deakin School of Medicine, and education and training of junior doctors and nurses. About The Role An exciting opportunity to complete a Graduate Certificate in Advanced Clinical Nursing (ICU), in affiliation with Deakin University. The successful applicants will have experience in either an acute medical, surgical or critical care area, excellent communication skills and a motivation to continued professional development. Successful applicants will be supported with our well‑established structured program. Graduates will develop the advanced clinical skills and knowledge required to care for critically ill patients within the Intensive Care Unit. In this role, you will work as an active part of a health care team that shows leadership and embraces change in the coordination and delivery of care in a modern and well‑equipped ICU. Multiple temporary positions of 64 hours per fortnight are available with offers on ongoing employment following the successful completion of the Graduate Certificate. The Program 12 months: 64 hrs per fortnight, temporary part time (commencing Jan 2026) In Collaboration with Deakin University Competencies and hurdles assessed onsite by Clinical Educator.
