The Office of the Director of Public Prosecutions is seeking a permanent full-time AO4 Court Listing Coordinator to join the Townsville team. In this key role, you will support the conduct of prosecutions in the Supreme, District, Children’s, and Magistrates Courts. Acting as the first point of contact for police officers, legal practitioners, Court Officers, and other government agencies, you will play a crucial part in ensuring efficient court operations. Explore More About your opportunity: As a Court Listings Coordinator, you will undertake a variety of responsibilities, including: Developing, maintaining, and reviewing systems to record court applications and other actions. Ensuring a thorough and reliable bring-up system for matters is in place. Preparing correspondence for police officers, legal practitioners, court officers, and officers of other government bodies. Representing the ODPP by preparing and appearing at mentions and call-overs of prosecutions. Compiling periodic reports and statistics on the work of the Chamber, including summaries of considered matters. Assisting the Principal Crown Prosecutor and/or Practice Manager in supervising and developing the capabilities of administrative officers. Performing administrative tasks within the Chambers as directed by the Principal Crown Prosecutor and/or Practice Manager. Monitoring and maintaining office supplies and equipment to ensure smooth operations. What We Are Looking For Proven experience in providing high-quality administrative support, particularly in the preparation of legal matters, preferably within a criminal law context. Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to engage effectively with a diverse range of stakeholders, including Magistrates, Judges, police officers, and legal practitioners. A collaborative team player with a clear understanding of roles, responsibilities, and accountabilities. Excellent oral communication skills, with the confidence to represent the ODPP in court during call-overs and mentions. High-level analytical and written communication skills, including the ability to prepare detailed reports, draft correspondence, perform accurate data entry, and utilise digital information systems effectively. Leadership and supervision skills, with experience in coaching and mentoring junior staff to enhance their professional capabilities. A commitment to professional and ethical standards, with a strong appreciation of diversity, inclusion, and cultural capabilities, ideally developed in a client-focused, frontline role. Why join us?
