About the Opportunity We are seeking an Assessment Officer to support the team in conducting assessments of initial applications, ensuring only genuine applicants are approved to operate within the vocational education and training sector. Key responsibilities Undertake a structured risk assessment of low‑risk small‑scope provider applications for initial registration under the NVETR Act and/or ESOS Act. Undertake a structured financial viability risk assessment and fit and proper person suitability assessment of applicants. Communicate with applicants to resolve issues related to submission of low‑risk small‑scope NVETR and/or ESOS Act registration applications and notifications. Apply administrative law decision‑making principles, writing quality reports and preparing statements of reasons documenting findings. Apply an understanding of and interpret relevant standards and legislation relating to risk assessment and registration activities. Process information and data received through sector and community sources to support ASQA’s risk‑management framework. Skills and experience Knowledge and understanding of regulatory frameworks and principles of effective regulation. Ability to manage risk, make clear, well‑reasoned, timely recommendations in a fast‑paced environment. Ability to conduct outcomes, identify improvement opportunities and manage change. Ability to build and maintain strong relationships characterized by cooperation. Demonstrate resilience and flexibility to achieve results within required timeframes.
