Kensington Neighbourhood House – Flemington VIC Position Focus Sew & Grow volunteers support adult learners from diverse backgrounds to develop foundational sewing skills while building confidence in English language use. Volunteers assist with sewing projects, set up equipment, provide informal literacy and numeracy support, and help create a warm, inclusive environment where participants feel safe, valued, and empowered to learn at their own pace. Kensington Neighbourhood House is committed to supporting its volunteers throughout their time with us, ensuring they feel supported and appreciated. Duties Assist students with sewing projects Set up sewing machines Provide numeracy and literacy support Use sewing terminology with students Engage in conversation with students about their work Support the teacher and team in creating an inclusive, welcoming learning environment Assist with tidying and packing up materials at the end of sessions Category Education & Training Commitment Regular - more than 6 months Type Of Work Arts, Craft & Photography, Education & Training Time Required Sew & Grow operates on Tuesdays from 10am 2pm at 76 McCracken St, Kensington AND on Fridays from 9.30am 12pm at Djerring Flemington Hub, Mt Alexander Rd, Flemington.
