Singapore Lead – MarComms agency

The role of the Singapore Lead is to head up Mahlab's business development / new client growth for Singapore and South East Asia. Building on existing strong relationships within the region we are now looking to expand further into APAC with this newly created role. The role will start in Australia for you to learn our business for 9 – 12 months, with frequent travel (every 4 – 8 weeks) to Singapore to identify and convert new business opportunities. The expectation would be that this role relocates to Singapore in early – mid 2024. Coming from a background in marketing or communications, you will be grounded in marcomms challenges and be adept at having informed, solutions focused initial conversations with prospective clients. Supported by and working with our CEO and Head of Strategy, your role includes prospecting and initiating conversations, developing the strategic solution, running the proposal process, helping shape the internal team at Mahlab, and onboarding the client. Once onboarded, you retain a strategic overview role, attending key strategy meetings with the ongoing management of the client being the responsibility of the Head of Marketing and other business units leaders. Reporting into both the CEO and Head of Strategy this pivotal role will: Create new business opportunities for the company from outbound new business leads. Secure meetings and lead new business pitches. Negotiate contracts working alongside the CEO and Head of Strategy. Build strong client relationships and have the ability to oversee a number of concurrent proposals for different clients. Innovate and present new products, services and ideas to help clients meet their business goals. Be tasked with specific financial goals i.e. contribution, KPIs. The ideal person will : Have 8+ years experience working in an account service or business development role from within a marketing, communications, digital or creative agency environment. Be a team player, capable of leading from the front. Have proven new business skills. Have a solid understanding of marcomms issues facing multinational businesses, a keen awareness of the market and opportunities for agency growth. Have good commercial and financial understanding. Have great communication and negotiation skills, both internally and externally. Be eager to use the role to expand company and individual horizons and be hungry for growth.
