Talent International, a leading Australian recruitment firm, has been engaged by our long-standing client to recruit a 3D Design Drafter on a contract basis until March 2027. Role Title: 3D Design Drafter Location + WFH Flexibility: Port Kembla, NSW Hourly Pay: $75 + super per hour The 3D Design Drafter will deliver comprehensive drafting and 3D modelling services for a major capital project. This role will support the engineering team by developing, maintaining, and managing detailed design documentation to ensure accuracy, compliance, and seamless project execution. You will: Develop and integrate 3D models, including incorporation of OEM 3D models. Produce new drawings, as‑built drawings from redline mark‑ups, and mark‑ups/cross‑references of existing plant drawings. Follow established drafting standards, procedures, and drawing management systems, including revision control, storage, and backups. Provide design and drafting support to engineers and project teams. Ensure all drafting activities comply with the Engineering Management Plan (ASMAP-PROJ-ENGR-PLN-0001). Required Skills and Experience 10+ years’ experience in 3D design and drafting, ideally within heavy industry or large-scale capital projects. Proficiency in AutoCAD and Inventor 3D software. Strong capability in 3D modelling, model management, and 2D drafting. Experience using point clouds to verify as-built structures and equipment. Skilled in Navisworks for model review and coordination. Proven ability to estimate drafting effort and manage competing priorities. Excellent problem‑solving, time management, and communication skills. Demonstrated ability to work effectively in cross‑functional and team‑oriented environments. Strong proficiency in English and MS Office suite. Background in mechanical and structural 3D design development and 2D drafting from concept through to detailed design. Experience delivering multi‑disciplinary engineering and construction projects within heavy industry. Sound understanding of relevant Australian standards and industry regulations. Demonstrated commitment to safety, health, environment, and community values. Broad understanding of engineering, construction, and commissioning processes for effective project integration.
