About the opportunity We seek a skilled individual to work in our Aboriginal Programs team providing support and advocacy to our patients and families at Werribee Mercy Hospital. Key responsibilities This is an Aboriginal/Torres Strait Islander identified position. As part of a multi-disciplinary team, provide support to promote health, cultural safety, and well-being for Aboriginal & Torres Strait Islander people. Assist in the identification of barriers for Aboriginal families in accessing health care. Open to rotating shifts in AM/PM our after hours and rotation for on call weekend shifts. Demonstrated knowledge and commitment to the Victorian Aboriginal community, culture and values. High level skills in the provision of support and advocacy to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people. Well-developed communication skills and a demonstrated capacity to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team. You are a dedicated and motivated individual. A compassionate, flexible and positive approach to effective patient care and management. The ability to nurture friendly, respectful relationships and contribute to a collaborative team environment. You will also be required to provide evidence of, or in the process of obtaining: A current Police Record Check and Working with Children Check.
