About This Position We are seeking a proactive and experienced individual to lead the day-to-day operations of the City's Stores Service. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment and can balance leadership, logistics and customer service. Based at the Operations Centre, the Senior Purchasing Officer will undertake responsibilities including (but not limited to): Overseeing and supporting up to two staff Managing stock control and purchasing processes Responding to queries and requests regarding purchasing, supplies and stores issues Monitoring and coordinating fuel supply for the City's fleet Negotiating with suppliers to achieve value for the City Providing excellent customer service and problem-solving support Qualifications Demonstrated experience in a purchasing or stores role Strong computer skills, including proficiency with office-based software The ability to lead and develop staff effectively Excellent communication and customer service skills A proactive, solutions-focused mindset Essential Requirements Current Driver's licence National Police Clearance (less than three months old). Please note: This is not essential to apply for the role but will be required at a later stage as it is an appointment condition.
