The Role This barista role combines speed, precision, and consistency with a warm, service-first mindset. You’ll uphold specialty coffee standards and keep our fast‑paced workflow running smoothly while protecting quality and presentation. You’ll also handle ordering for Padre beans, alternative milks, and essential bar consumables when needed. This position suits someone who thrives in a high-volume environment, takes pride in detail, and works with calm energy even during the rush. Key Responsibilities 1. Speed, Quality & Standards Deliver fast, consistent service while maintaining specialty coffee precision Calibrate grinders, monitor extraction, and taste daily Keep workstations clean and ready – speed comes from structure Monitor ticket times (5–10 minutes max) and communicate clearly with FOH 2. Stock & Ordering Manage Padre Coffee beans, alternative milks, and consumables around the cafe Maintain PAR levels, track rotation, and limit waste Receive, check, and store deliveries correctly Report supplier or quality issues promptly 3. Systems & Equipment Clean and maintain espresso machines, grinders, and tools daily Log issues or faults immediately when needed Follow open, mid, and close checklists precisely Standards & Expectations Be hands‑on, fast, and solutions‑driven Stay composed under pressure – slower is smoother, smoother is faster Keep the bar spotless and organised at all times Maintain high standards of coffee quality and presentation Lead by example in attitude, professionalism, and pace Why Join Benny’s At Benny’s, you’ll be part of a forward‑thinking café that values structure, speed, and genuine hospitality.
