Consultant Psychiatrist, Mental Health Reference Number: 52688 Employment Type: Fixed Term Part Time (PT) Location: Northern Health (All Campuses) About Northern Health: Northern Health is the major provider of acute, maternity, sub-acute, mental health, specialist, community and home-based services in Melbourne’s rapidly growing outer north. It operates across six main campuses and offers mental health services in multiple locations throughout the northern suburbs. About the Role The Consultant Psychiatrist will provide high quality, timely professional treatment and care, working collaboratively with all NH divisions and external partners. The role involves service development, strategic direction, safety and quality improvement, teaching, research, and participation in on‑call and ECT rosters. The psychiatrist may undertake additional duties within the Mental Health Division at various locations. Responsibilities • Deliver comprehensive psychiatric care to clients across inpatient, residential, and community settings.• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, external agencies, consumers, and carer groups to support recovery principles.• Contribute to quality and safety initiatives, teaching, and research activities.• Participate in on‑call and ECT rosters as required.• Support service development and strategic innovation to improve outcomes for consumers and families.
