Works Supervisor

The Works Supervisor leads a works team in the professional, diligent performance of duties associated with the construction, maintenance and repair of Council’s infrastructure to a best practice standard, and assists the Works Coordinator to coordinate resources in a proactive, cost effective and efficient manner. Key Responsibilities Supervise, lead and support works staff to ensure timely completion of daily and monthly programs, whilst overseeing the completion and submission of staff timesheets Provide on-call support, coordinating staff, plant and materials in emergency situations Ensure WHS procedures, inductions, and risk assessments are followed and documented Report incidents and assist with investigations and safety improvements Assist with quality and environmental processes, including required documentation Assist with preparing quotations, including calculating material and resource needs Certificate IV in Local Government Operational Works (or working towards) with relevant workplace experience. Previous work experience in the implementation and review of Risk Assessments and Safe Work Method Statements for road maintenance and construction activities. Ability to accurately read and interpret civil engineering drawings. WorkCover OH&S General Induction for Construction Work. Demonstrated basic competence in computer operations including Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook. Current class C Driver Licence. ‘Prepare a work zone’ Traffic Management Plan Certificate What we offer Permanent full time, 38 hours per week, 4-day work week A gross weekly salary from $ to $ based on demonstrated competencies, qualifications, skills and experience.
