About The Role Based at the Brisbane Immigration Detention Centre you’ll facilitate fitness and recreational activities that support the physical and emotional wellbeing of detainees. Working within the Programs & Activities team, you’ll deliver safe, inclusive, and culturally aware programs that enhance social connection and promote healthy routines. Key responsibilities include: Facilitate recreational and fitness-based programs Promote inclusion, motivation, and positive engagement among detainees Accurately record detainee attendance and maintain program data Provide feedback to help shape and improve program delivery Support detainees in building self-management, life skills and resilience Consider social, cultural and religious diversity in program design and delivery Respond appropriately to emergency situations within gym or recreational areas To be successful in this role: You’re approachable, energetic, and passionate about sharing your skills to help others. You enjoy working with people from diverse backgrounds and have a calm, professional manner in dynamic environments. Certificate III or IV in Fitness or a related qualification Current Member Fitness Australia or affiliated body Experience working with diverse or vulnerable populations (desirable) First Aid and CPR (or willing to obtain) Ability to pass an Australian Federal Police Check Availability across the 7 days of the week For a confidential discussion, contact Or click Apply Now – we’re ready to prioritise your application.
