We’re looking for an Accounts Clerk to join our high‑performing team on a part‑time basis (minimum of 3 days per week) for our Sydney office. The Role As an Accounts Clerk, you will work closely with the finance team and report to the Finance Manager, based in our Sydney office. You will be responsible for Accounts Payables and data entry, ensuring our ledgers are accurately maintained in real time. Your responsibilities will include receiving and logging invoices onto the ledger, helping to process the weekly Accounts Receivable and Payables reports, financial data entry, and expense reporting. In order for you to be successful in this role, you will require a high degree of proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly in Excel. The successful candidate will have a strong understanding of payments and the accounting process. Duties Assisting with processing progress claims and raising Tax Invoices Assisting with client supplier portals and uploading tax invoices Monitoring Finance inbox with Accountant Accounts Payable invoicing and financial data entry Allocate vendor and supplier invoices to the relevant job and cost code expenses Help Accountant in processing payments in an organized and efficient manner to the agreed payment run schedules New project setup and assign employee workflow approvals Setup new supplier and subcontractor requests in the system Follow up AP pending approvals inline with the Security of Payments Act Liaise with vendors regarding payment terms and reconcile Accounts Payable ledger Assisting with monthly financial closure Any other ad‑hoc finance duties Skills & Experience Minimum 1‑2 years of previous experience in a similar role (experience in the construction industry would be beneficial) Certificate or Diploma in Accounting, Bookkeeping, or Business Administration (or currently studying towards one). Highly computer literate particularly MS Office with intermediate abilities with Excel Solid data entry skills with an ability to identify numerical errors Ability to work autonomously and unsupervised Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to liaise confidently across departments.
