Portland Dental Surgery has an exciting opportunity to join our team as a Dental Assistant on a casual basis, with an immediate start. The suitable candidate must have strong work ethic, demonstrating open flexibility to working a minimum of 4 days per week/30 hours per week (Between the hours of 9am - 5:30pm). It is essential that candidates are flexible with availability for extra shifts as the business requires. Experience preferred but not necessary as all training will be provided. Duties of the role include but are not limited to: Acting as first point of contact for our patients: the ideal candidate will possess a strong ability to develop rapport with patients through preparing for procedures & explaining care treatments/courses of prescribed treatments following procedures. Assisting Dentist with a variety of dental procedures in accordance with ADA Guidelines: Including the sterilization of used equipment, operation of surgical appliances & X-Ray Digital Imaging equipment. Clinical room set up & sterilization between patients. Assist in day-to-day surgery operations through demonstrating efficient communication/ administration skills, efficient time management & ability to work under pressure. Report to & follow direction of head Dentist for all dental procedures. The successful candidate will possess the following skills & attributes: Strong time management, punctuality & high attention to detail. Motivated to develop new skills, follow instructions with high efficiency & demonstrate strong manual dexterity. Ability to develop rapport with patients through effective communication.
