Overview Procurement Manager role at AGL . The Procurement Manager is responsible for maximising value from strategic suppliers through market intelligence, insights, and effective implementation of best-in-class procurement processes and practices across Technology categories. This involves delivering new sources of value beyond cost (e.g., innovation, time to market, risk management) to drive ongoing stakeholder satisfaction within business units and to proactively influence critical business decisions related to external expenditure while managing risk. This role is responsible for developing and leading procurement activities across the organization with a focus on technology. To align with AGL's strategic objectives, this portfolio includes responsibility for Source to Contract strategies and commercial management of strategic contracts relating to major projects. This role will deliver commercial outcomes across AGL, including taking the lead in program procurement activities, while ensuring governance across supplier activity. Responsibilities Manage the procurement technology team, ensuring alignment with strategic objectives and driving innovation in procurement processes. Be an active member of the Retail & Corporate Procurement Leadership Team, contributing to the development and execution of procurement strategies across the organization. Lead complex commercial negotiations and support critical sourcing activities. Liaise with procurement partners on contracts, requirements, and category strategies. Collaborate effectively with partners to implement course corrections and mitigation strategies as needed. Oversee the commercial and governance framework for major projects. Enable and facilitate strategic engagement between stakeholders and partners through an effective communication model. Grow and strengthen partner relationships to drive high-quality services and performance that deliver operational excellence and business value. Implement and manage a Continuous Service Improvement (CSI) process with partners and leverage CSI initiatives to create additional value beyond contract requirements. Focus on optimising contract performance and mitigating supply chain risks through facilitating collaborative working. Provide guidance to stakeholder groups on procurement policies and processes, including contract management. Manage supply risk and ensure compliance with responsible sourcing, ethics, and regulatory requirements. Qualifications Tertiary qualifications associated with Engineering, Commerce, Business or Law is preferred, with additional qualifications highly valued. Knowledge of business drivers and issues facing a large-scale, matrix organisation and best practice procurement, with ability to translate these into requirements for inclusion in portfolio activity. Proven leadership experience in leading and developing teams and managing projects to deliver complex initiatives and projects. Talent development experience to nurture and grow the skills of the procurement teams. Experience in planning and prioritisation to ensure efficient and effective procurement processes. Extensive experience in working on large-scale initiatives and projects with a proven ability to lead transformation for positive change. Proven experience in enterprise functions, including time in highly complex technology environments. Advanced experience in strategic plans and project management skills. Experience and skills in strategic and outsourced vendor models. Strong knowledge across service delivery and operations in an outsourcing environment.
