Overview Join Societe Generale Corporate & Investment Banking (SG CIB) as a Graduate Trainee – Risk Management in Sydney, Australia. This is a full‑time fixed‑term position for 12 months, offering hands‑on experience within a fast‑paced, results‑focused global organization. Responsibilities Working with the Chief Risk Officer (CRO), you will build a sound understanding of each of the SG Sydney Branch Front Office businesses, their strategies, products, and services, and how they fit within the broader banking market in Australia & New Zealand. You will become rapidly proficient with all aspects of the credit process including reviewing credit applications and financial modelling, perform deep dives into particular risk topics, contribute to the Risk Management Committee pack, monitor and explain breaches of key risk metrics, communicate with front office teams, monitor market movements, prepare ad‑hoc reports for regulatory authorities and auditors, manage special requests from management, support operational risk monitoring, and cooperate with regional RISQ teams on ad‑hoc requests. Qualifications University degree in a relevant discipline (Commerce, Finance, Risk Management, Engineering or Mathematics). Interest in and basic understanding of global debt and market activities. Entrepreneurial, curious, pro‑active, rigorous, team player and self‑motivated. Ability to build strong working relationships (including remotely) with people from diverse, international backgrounds. Good communication and organisational skills. Client‑focus: put long‑term relationship with clients at the centre of actions.
