Graduate Trainee – Compliance Societe Generale is looking for a Graduate Trainee – Compliance based in Sydney, Australia. This 12‑month fixed‑term role offers hands‑on experience in a fast‑paced, results‑focused global organisation. Reference 25000ODR Responsibilities Track all interactions with Australian regulators in an organized and auditable manner. Respond to regulator inquiries in written form or on conference calls. Execute implementation of supporting documentation to meet regulatory requirements of all SG Australian entities, including manuals, obligation registers and local policies. Contribute to robust and effective compliance controls within the organisation. Execute certain controls and approvals, especially personal account dealing approvals, visitor management and tracking. Prepare work related to the compliance training programme. Produce regional reporting and other regional projects as required. Assist compliance management with preparation of committee meeting materials. Assist the compliance team in managing day‑to‑day compliance obligations and mailbox management. Monitor compliance with laws, regulations and internal policies. Remain up to date on the legislative and regulatory environment in which SG operates. Create a compliance resource library for staff members. Review existing policies that require review and updating. Required Qualifications, Experience & Knowledge Tertiary qualification in Law and another discipline (e.g. Arts, Commerce, Economics or Science) or a Business degree. Competent in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint and Microsoft Office generally. Knowledge and understanding of Australian laws, regulations and guidelines in relation to banking and financing activities, and working knowledge of related areas of law and the regulatory environment. Excellent analytical skills and ability to accurately interpret complex documents and policies. Behavioural Competency Analytical, strong written and verbal communication and presentation skills. Good interpersonal skills, able to clearly explain complex regulatory and legal issues. Discipline and professionalism, working well under pressure to tight deadlines while maintaining strong attention to detail. Time‑management skills, capacity to manage multiple tasks and prioritise as relevant. Ability to work independently. Team player. High proficiency in spoken and written English.
