Graduate Geotechnical Engineer / Engineering Geologist – CMW Geosciences – Brisbane, Queensland, Australia About CMW Geosciences Since starting in Perth in 2012, CMW Geosciences has expanded to 22 offices with 300 employees across Australia and New Zealand. We are hard‑working, down‑to‑earth, and passionate engineers and geologists who provide quality geotechnical site investigation, analysis, and design advice to the construction, infrastructure and energy sectors. Graduate Experience As a graduate at CMW, you’ll be treated like an industry professional from day one. After training and inductions, you’ll go out in the field to learn practical skills, work with senior technical staff, and be exposed to the full project lifecycle. Within 3‑4 years you’ll be expected to manage and run projects from start to finish. Typical Day On the field you’ll log bore holes, undertake hand augers, and observe construction activities such as piling, retaining walls, and ground improvement sites. In the office you’ll process logs and soil samples, write technical reports and assist project managers with deliverables. What You’ll Need A Civil Engineering, Geology or Earth Science Degree (strong preference for QLD graduates) Ability to complete strenuous fieldwork tasks Ability to travel and work away from home A full Australian driver’s licence A desire to work outdoors with a love of rocks, soil and geology Good interpersonal skills Exceptional organisation and communication skills, both verbal and written What You’ll Get Additional day leave on birthday At least 50 hours of training/CPD per year and paid membership to Engineers Australia/Engineers New Zealand Access to our 2‑year CMW graduate training program Office social events throughout the year Ability to earn overtime and/or time in lieu Novated lease / salary‐sacrifice vehicle finance options Important Notes Relocation assistance is not available for graduate positions.
