Classification ANU Officer 6 / 7 (Administration) Salary package $95,489 per annum plus 17% superannuation (pro rata) Term Part-time (14 hrs per week), Continuing (Contingent Funded) This position is continuing (contingent funded). The funding that supports this project has an expected end date of 31/12/2026. Responsibilities The SENSW regional training hub project officer works in collaboration with the Manager to deliver the annual workplan and meet the goals of the hub. This includes but is not limited to : Assist in the planning, organisation and delivery of rural medical workforce initiatives, including orientation activities, teaching sessions, networking events and rural engagement programs. Work closely with clinical educators, health services staff and senior clinicians to support program activities to enhance the experience of junior doctors in the rural setting. Maintain program documentation, prepare reports and assist with evaluations that help shape the ongoing development of rural and regional workforce programs. The Hub project officer is based in Goulburn and is required to travel occasionally to RCS locations and work with a degree of autonomy, under the direction of the Hub Manager, South-East NSW Regional Training Hub. The position will work closely with the Hub Manager and liaise and engage with the regional RCS staff and the wider rural communities to support and implement the objectives of the program. The objectives of the regional training hubs are to : Improve the coordination of the stages of medical training to enable maximum exposure to rural medicine. Identify students with rural intent and facilitate access to rural training opportunities. Develop regional training capacity by supporting current supervisors of clinical training, assisting health services in obtaining accreditation for new training positions, and supporting local medical practitioners to become clinical supervisors. Strengthen existing, and develop new, connections with key stakeholders to improve the continuity of training for medical students / trainees within their region; and Identify regional medical workforce needs and use this information to prioritise activity. Under broad direction of the Manager, the Hub Project Officer will : Provide high quality project management support in accordance with contractual obligations in the annual work plan and ongoing operations of the South-East NSW Regional Training Hub. Provide high level secretariat support to meetings including compiling agendas, minute taking, preparing and distributing minutes and implementation of outcomes to stakeholders. In collaboration with the manager, build and maintain collaborative relationships with key stakeholders to support the SNSW LHD and General Practices to increase opportunities for junior doctor recruitment and retention. Support activities which enable medical graduates to complete as much of their training as possible in regional areas. Contribute to Hub communications and marketing to promote objectives including but not limited to social media management, commitment to continuous improvement and best practice in stakeholder engagement. Coordinate the collection, collation and review of data and reporting requirements to meet contractual requirements. Support a service improvement culture, working collaboratively to consult and gather information, identify solutions and undertake tasks to achieve identified objectives. Contribute to the efficient and effective operation of the Rural Clinical School & ANU School of Medicine and Psychology through building professional networks, and engaging in team and functional meetings and training, and professional development. Comply with all ANU policies and procedures, and particularly those relating to conduct, work health and safety, equal opportunity and sustainable practices; and Undertake other duties as required from time to time consistent with the classification level of the position. Person Must be able to demonstrate the following selection criteria : Relevant tertiary qualification and experience in a health / university setting, or an equivalent combination of industry experience and demonstrated high level project coordination skills inclusive of implementation and capacity to collect and interpret data. Well-developed interpersonal skills to liaise, consult and negotiate with key stakeholders and colleagues at all levels and the proven ability to interpret and relay complex information, with a demonstrated ability to innovate and develop processes within the scope of functions, and to prioritise and manage own workload. Excellent organisational skills with the demonstrated ability to work independently with minimal supervision, and the proven capacity to work systematically and complete tasks with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail. Proficiency in a range of computer applications including Microsoft office suite and Social Media programs. High level written and communication skills. A demonstrated understanding of equal opportunity principles and policies and a commitment to their application in a university context. Additional Requirements As a multi campus School all staff are required to hold a current driver's licence. This position will require some travel to rural areas of South-East NSW. The School / Department The ANU Medical School educates and develops medical graduates who practise medicine with compassion, conscience and professional excellence and with a knowledge of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander health and culture. The Rural Clinical School (RCS) within the ANU Medical School is an established program funded by the Commonwealth Department of Health under the Rural Health Multidisciplinary Training (RHMT) Programme. The Program aims to improve the health and wellbeing of Australians living in rural and remote areas by providing effective rural training experiences for medical students.
