You'll also play a key role in mentoring less experienced coders and supporting the district's coding quality initiatives. Accurately code complex inpatient episodes using ICD-10-AM and DRG principles Apply high-level judgement and ethical coding practices in line with ACS Mentor junior coders and contribute to education and training programs Support coding audits and quality improvement aligned with WSLHD Coding Quality Plan Monitor coding throughput, DRG allocations, and meet KPIs for data quality Ready to take the next step in your health information career? How To Apply Apply online by submitting your resume and addressing the criteria listed below by providing examples that demonstrate your ability before the closing date. Extensive clinical coding experience (in the current ICD-10-AM version) across a broad range of specialties in a tertiary setting, evidenced to meet the District’s set KPIs of accuracy & throughput. Demonstrated understanding of Diagnosis Related Groups (DRGs) and Activity Based Funding (ABF). Excellent verbal, written, interpersonal and communication skills with high level attention to detail. Proven ability to prioritise tasks and effectively manage time and resources to meet pre-determined targets and deadlines. Ability to analyse, abstract, interpret and report information in clinical coding forums. Enthusiastic attitude and demonstrated ability to work both independently, within a team and be flexible in a changing work environment. Demonstrated experience using computer applications.
