What You'll be Doing The advanced level clinical coder is expected to undertake highly complex coding clinical coding and assist the clinical coding team to ensure coding reflects the complexity and accurately describes the hospital casemix. The position is expected to meet the requirements of the SWSLHD Clinical Coder Competency – Advanced Level. Where You’ll Be Working Liverpool Hospital, founded in 1813, is the major health service for south‑western Sydney, offering a wide range of state‑wide services including critical care and trauma, neonatal intensive care, and brain injury rehabilitation. As a key teaching facility for UNSW Sydney and Western Sydney University, it provides extensive clinical services, including emergency care, cancer treatment, paediatrics, and mental health services. The hospital features 23 operating theatres and has a capacity for 877 beds. View our application guide for information on how to respond to criteria and improve your application. Current extensive clinical coding experience using ICD‑10‑AM within a tertiary hospital setting. Extensive experience across a broad range of specialties with evidence of meeting KPIs for accuracy & throughput as set within SWSLHD Advanced coder coding competencies. Excellent verbal, written, interpersonal and communication with high level attention to detail. Proven ability to prioritise tasks and effectively manage time and resources to meet pre‑determined targets and deadlines. Ability to analyse, abstract, interpret and report information in clinical coding forums. Enthusiastic attitude and demonstrated ability to work both independently, within a team and be flexible in a changing work environment. Demonstrated skill in the use of computerized PAS and record control systems, 3M Codefinder software, PICQ and a sound knowledge of Microsoft office applications.
