Since 1970, Heuch Cooling has been a leader in innovative cooling solutions dedicated to delivering high‑performance cooling systems across industries including mining, defence, manufacturing, and food processing. This is a full‑time role. IMMEDIATE START The Mechanical Project Engineer will perform all activities associated with project requirements and planning, client meetings, participating in the detailed design, review and supply of engineering deliverables, and control of the execution of works. The Mechanical Project Engineer will liaise with the engineering team, procurement, production and other internal business stakeholders to develop the most effective solutions for Heuch considering cost, standardisation, part availability and compliance. This includes: Close interaction with project teams in a positive and focused manner to realize productive results. Clear and effective inter‑departmental communication is necessary, as are frequent customer discussions. The individual must also provide accurate and high‑quality work with minimal supervision. Standardisation of the design data, design models, guidelines and the equipment to make the business more effective. Reporting Line: Key Responsibilities Prepare and update the project plan, lead the completion of engineering tasks in accordance with Heuch procedures, international and Australian Standards, and deliver projects within time and budget. Participate in the detailed design of mechanical and refrigeration systems and check engineering deliverables including, but not limited to: P&ID Mechanical Engineering Calculations Specifications General Arrangements Manufacturing and Assembly Drawings Bill of Materials Operation Manual Conduct design review and hand over projects to the production team. Finalize the engineering deliverables with clients and prepare as‑built drawings. Carry out all other design and manufacturing assignments and projects. Work closely with purchasing to source BOM specifications at best cost. Work closely with Engineering Manager to generate and maintain the design and engineering processes and procedures. Liaise with subcontractors and suppliers to communicate Heuch’s requirements on specification, cost and time. Inspect installations and observe operations to ensure compliance with design and equipment specifications and safety standards. Liaise with the production team and clients to plan and carry out FAT test/report. Qualifications, key skills and experience - Required Bachelor’s degree in mechanical/Mechatronics Engineering recognised by the Institute of Engineers Australia. Must be Proficient in SolidWorks. (No negotiable) Understanding of engineering drawings and deliverables. Understanding of refrigeration system. JOB REQUIREMENTS: To be based in Melbourne, VIC. To be eligible to work in Australia.
