The Opportunity We are seeking a Mechanical Project Engineer to support a variety of upcoming projects within our client’s large-scale mining operation. This hands‑on role is focused on project scoping, mechanical assessments, equipment reviews, and coordinating with project teams to ensure practical and safe project execution. What the Role Entails Assist in developing scopes of work and mechanical engineering requirements for multiple projects. Conduct inspections and condition assessments of mechanical equipment, pumps, piping, tanks, materials handling systems, and rotating plant. Review engineering drawings, specifications, datasheets, and vendor technical submissions. Provide mechanical input into feasibility studies, project estimates, and constructability reviews. Participate in hazard assessments, risk workshops, design reviews, and technical evaluations. Support onsite construction activities, including mechanical installation checks, QA verification, and resolving technical queries. Ensure all mechanical engineering work complies with Australian Standards, site engineering specifications, and safety requirements. What You Will Need Degree‑qualified Mechanical Engineer. Strong understanding of mechanical equipment, rotating machinery, piping systems, tanks, pumps, conveyors, and associated plant infrastructure. Comfortable working in an operational processing plant with a strong safety focus. Strong communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively with project engineers, maintenance teams, and contractors. Practical problem‑solving mindset and interest in both engineering design/analysis and site‑based work.
