Trust Accountant – Perpetual Corporate Trust 4 days ago – Be among the first 25 applicants. Perpetual Group is an ASX‑listed company headquartered in Sydney, Australia, comprising 11 leading brands across Asset Management, Wealth Management, and Corporate Trust. This role joins the Investment Operations Team in Managed Funds Services and supports the Perpetual Corporate Trust Accounting team. About the role You will assist the accounting team in providing accurate and timely services to managers of securitisation trusts and managed investment trusts (MITs). Key responsibilities include: Preparing periodic management accounts for a portfolio of clients. Preparing audited annual financial statements for Special Purpose and General Purpose Tier‑2 entities. Coordinating and ensuring timely completion of audit engagements. Coordinating preparation and lodgement of income‑tax returns and annual tax reports, including AIIR and PAYGW with a tax agent. Preparing budgets and liquidity forecasts. Preparing Business Activity Statements (BAS) and Instalment Activity Statements (IAS). Preparing distribution and withholding tax calculations for MITs and certain securitisation trusts. Liaising with key internal stakeholders such as Trustees, Trust Managers, and Investment Managers. About you Hold a degree in accounting, economics, or finance with a major in accounting. Fully qualified or currently pursuing CA or CPA accreditation. Registration as a BAS or tax agent is considered an advantage. Have 2+ years of experience in a chartered accounting firm. Possess an understanding of tax legislation for trusts in Australia (desirable). Working knowledge of managed funds and securitisation is advantageous.
