Join Sony - A world leading entertainment brand that continues to deliver innovative products, content and experiences to consumers and businesses across the world We're currently on the hunt for an experienced Financial Accountant to join our team Reporting to the Finance Manager and working across Sony Australia and New Zealand, you’ll be a key member of the finance team, with responsibility over general accounting responsibilities for both internal and external reporting requirements. About the role Month End Reporting Preparing month‑end journals and other month‑end accruals Performing month‑end system closing procedures Supporting review activities of P&L and variance analysis against budget/forecasts Providing analysis and commentary regarding accounts and financial reports Treasury function & support Reviewing the monthly rolling cashflow forecast Monitoring future payments in foreign currency and executing hedging contracts Monitoring daily funding to ensure adequate funds to cover payments Forecast / Budget Assisting in the preparation of monthly forecast of company expenses by cost centre function Supporting budgeting of company expenses by cost centre function Supporting business units and cost centre owners on variance analysis Statutory Reporting Requirements for AU and NZ Supporting year‑end audit closing and liaising with auditors Assisting in the preparation and completion of year‑end statutory audited accounts About you High level of accountability with the ability to prioritise and manage deadlines Excellent interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively communicate with all levels of the business SAP experience preferable Intermediate MS Excel (Vlookup, pivot tables, experience to handling mass excel data) Relevant accounting and tertiary qualifications are essential together with previous experience in a similar role CPA/CA Qualified or close to completion Sony offers An exciting work environment with opportunities to grow and investment in your career.
