The Role We are seeking an experienced and dedicated Clinical Nurse Consultant (CNC) – Mental Health to join our team. This senior nursing role provides clinical leadership, advanced practice expertise, and guidance to ensure the highest standards of patient care. Responsibilities Providing advanced clinical assessment, intervention, and consultation for complex mental health presentations Leading and mentoring nursing staff to build capability and confidence in mental health care Collaborating with psychiatrists, psychologists, social workers, and allied health professionals Driving quality improvement initiatives and evidence-based practice within the clinic Contributing to service development and innovation in mental health care delivery Requirements Demonstrated leadership skills and proven ability to manage and coordinate the clinical activities of a multidisciplinary adult inpatient mental health team with the ability to assist the NUM/ADON in relation to the effective management of human and physical resources Demonstrated specialist level knowledge and advanced practice in relation to acute inpatient psychiatry, including a proven ability to provide a range of assessments and specialist treatments and interventions Demonstrated capacity to effectively undertake a consultation/leadership role within a multidisciplinary adult inpatient setting, including providing supervision and support to other staff as required Desirable Holds, or is working towards, a relevant postgraduate qualification Current Driver’s Licence Details of appointment Permanent, part time, day worker position, working 16 hours per fortnight, commencing as soon as possible. Hours to be negotiated with the successful applicant. Salary and benefits Salary: $114,851 to $121,886 per annum (Pro rata). Employer 12% superannuation contribution is on top of this amount. Salary range is in accordance with Nurses and Midwives (Tasmania State Service) Agreement 2023. In addition, the following allowances calculated on the salaried incremental point may be available: Post Graduate Allowance of up to 10% based on qualification type Salary Packaging: You’ll have access to salary packaging a range of benefits including living expenses up to $9,010 + $2,650 in meal entertainment each FBT year + other benefits if eligible.
