Training, Safety and Compliance Coordinator Heavy Logistics and Mechanical Pty Ltd – Bowen QLD Heavy Logistics and Mechanical are a locally owned and operated company specialising in major repairs, maintenance and refurbishment of mobile plant and earthmoving equipment. Heavy Logistics and Mechanical have a team of Diesel Fitters, Boilermakers, Blaster/Painters, Crane Operators, Trade Assistants, and a fully equipped transport division for Heavy Haulage. The Role Heavy Logistics and Mechanical are seeking a Training and Compliance Coordinator to join their team. This role is crucial in ensuring that their workforce and fleet remains compliant with industry regulations and maintains up‑to‑date training records. If you have a keen eye for detail, strong organisational skills, and enjoy working in a dynamic environment, this is the perfect opportunity for you Key Responsibilities Maintain and update employee training records, ensuring compliance with site, industry and legislative requirements. Coordinate internal and external training programs, including onboarding, refresher courses, and licence renewals. Oversee compliance databases and contractor management systems to ensure smooth workforce onboarding and project compliance. Identify training gaps and risks to provide recommendations and facilitate necessary training. Generate and maintain reports on training completion rates, compliance status, and certification renewals to keep leadership informed. Ensure all fleet vehicles and equipment adhere to site compliance regulations, including licensing, inspections, registrations, and safety standards. Maintain accurate records of fleet compliance reports. Maintain SWMS, risk registers, and safety procedures. Conduct site inspections, audits, incident investigations and risk assessments. Adhoc duties as needed. About you To succeed in this role, you’ll have: Ideally worked in a similar role previously with exposure to training and compliance management, prior experience working in the construction/mining industry (not essential but desirable). Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office. Excellent organisational and time management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities. Strong communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to liaise effectively with internal teams and external providers. Knowledge of relevant compliance requirements, safety standards, and legislative obligations. A proactive and problem‑solving mindset with a passion for maintaining high standards of compliance.
