Investment Manager/Associate - Fund Strategy Airtree is a venture capital firm dedicated to backing the most ambitious Australian and Kiwi founders building iconic technology companies. With a portfolio of over 120 startups, including 8 of the top 10 most valuable private tech firms in the country, we manage more than $2 bn and recently launched our fifth vintage fund of $650 m. The Fund Strategy team is a core part of our investment organisation. It provides high‑quality analysis and insights at both fund and portfolio company level—managing reserves, pacing funds, benchmarking operating data, and shaping investment strategy. This role is designed to act like a “Venture MBA” and will be key to driving Airtree’s future growth. What you’ll do: Portfolio analysis – monitor and deepen understanding of portfolio performance, review financial and operational metrics, and support Airtree leads/board members to act as valuable thought partners for founders. Metrics & benchmarking – develop and refine market‑benchmarks across technology sectors to inform investment decisions. Valuations – drive valuation methodology and own the valuation review process. Investor reporting – track fund and portfolio performance and translate findings into clear communications for investors. Investor materials – prepare presentations, investment memoranda, and other investor deliverables. Fundraise support – assist the Head of IR with financial model tracking for upcoming fundraises. Portfolio support – help with due‑diligence, competitor & market analysis, financial modelling, and raise reporting for follow‑on and growth‑stage deals. You will not be responsible for sourcing new investments or meeting founders directly. The person we’re looking for: 2–4 years’ experience in a technology‑focused investment group, investment bank, consulting firm, or startup. Finance or product management experience is a plus. Passion for technology and startups; curiosity and obsession with tech companies. Self‑directed, flexible, and comfortable in a fast‑paced environment with shifting priorities. Systems thinker – able to organise chaos and implement frameworks that improve our investment process. Benefits: 5 weeks of leave: 4 weeks annual leave plus 1 bonus week for well‑being.
