Randstad is seeking an experienced Associate or Principal Civil Engineer to become the commercial leader for a respected engineering consultancy, based in their Hobart office. If you have a strong background in either Transport Infrastructure or Civil works for buildings and thrive on challenging, complex projects, this is your chance to take ownership of a team and its market presence. About the opportunity You will be the face of the Civil Engineering division, where you will be responsible for its successful project delivery, technical excellence, and client relationships. This is a multi-faceted role encompassing technical leadership, project management, business development, and team mentorship. Technical Leadership & Design Provide innovative designs that align with the company's standards and value proposition, ensuring they are prepared to a high standard. Maintain a high degree of knowledge of Local and International Standards and Codes and construction practices. Apply your understanding of construction costings and factors influencing construction programs as part of your design. Project & Client Management Take on the responsibility for planning, managing, and successfully delivering complex engineering projects to meet client requirements and profitability. Monitor quality, costs, and schedule to ensure client expectations are consistently met or exceeded. Maintain and develop strong customer relationships, ensuring communication is regular, open, and effective. Identify potential new clients and opportunities for the division and build necessary relationships. Coordinate with other disciplines and external parties to ensure projects are delivered in accordance with customer requirements and time frames. About you A minimum of 6 years of relevant industry experience A Bachelor Degree in Civil Engineering. CPEng Charted Status or the ability to obtain this Strong analytic and problem-solving skills to analyse complex data and design solutions. Excellent communication skills with proficiency in conveying technical information effectively to all stakeholders. A track record of managing time effectively and engaging in projects from conception through to completion.
