Product Development Technologist

We’re looking for an enthusiastic and experienced Product Development Technologist to join our team. Reporting to the Head of Product Development, you’ll bring ideas to life — developing new and innovative products from concept through to launch. You’ll thrive in a fast-paced, collaborative environment, where creativity, curiosity and “getting it done” are all part of the recipe for success. Core Responsibilities Development of new products and reformulations in line with Carman’s product philosophy and consumer needs Manage projects within Stage and Gate process – from idea to execution including NPD briefs and post launch reviews In house recipe development to translate to factory environment New products/reformulations that comply with FSANZ and ACCC regulatory guidelines. Active and collaborative supplier management to drive best NPD for Carman's both from product and commercial perspective Support/lead continuous improvement and packaging projects Source new suppliers and capabilities Lead competitor benchmarking and sensory evaluations, contributing to research and recommending actions based on outcomes. Maintain deep category knowledge and track innovation trends locally and globally. Attend and oversee production trials and support effective and thorough handover to QA team for first production. Qualifications Proven food product development experience within FMCG Strong project management skills - timeline construction and contingency management Strong communication skills both internally and externally (via regular liaison with key suppliers to ensure effective and mutually beneficial relationships) Up to date knowledge of FSANZ and regulatory codes of practice Experience with Stage-gate model from discovery to launch experience Tertiary qualification in a food related discipline is highly desirable Commercial nous with demonstrated experience Cost optimisation and supply risk mitigation Benefits Hybrid working arrangements (Tuesdays we are all in the office & eat lunch together).
