We are seeking a Product Development Technologist to join our team on a permanent, full-time basis (Monday to Friday). About the Role Based at our Jandakot site and reporting to the Product Development Manager, this role is responsible for developing new products and optimising existing products to meet customer and business needs. Key Responsibilities Manage customer product briefs from concept through to launch, following the Hellers stage and gate product development process Proactively develop new products that align with customer and business requirements Assist with sourcing new raw materials and packaging in line with customer and regulatory requirements Undertake cost engineering of existing products and recipes Ensure project timelines and milestones are met Plan and run factory trials for new and existing products Record and analyse trial data including yields and labour, and prepare post-trial reports Conduct shelf-life testing on new products using organoleptic and microbiological assessment, and interpret data to determine product shelf life Prepare finished product specifications and generate pack copy information for artwork, including quality attribute sheets and use of retailer online systems Complete nutritional analysis, health star ratings, cooking instructions, recycling information, meat content and country of origin labelling requirements Conduct allergen risk assessments and ensure controls are appropriately managed Generate all required production paperwork for new product launches including recipes, batch sheets and quality attribute sheets Support post launch reviews against agreed KPIs Maintain and update process control documentation Support cross functional teams on capital expenditure projects and assist with the integration and management of new processes About You Experience in product development for cooked ready to eat poultry, crumbed and battered or similar food products Practical experience working within a structured stage and gate product development process Strong project management and organisational skills The ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a cross functional team Sound working knowledge of food safety principles and high care ready to eat processing environments Tertiary qualifications in Food Science or a related discipline A minimum of 3 years’ experience in Food Industry Product Development Strong working knowledge of retailer online specification systems and customer specification requirements If you are passionate about product development and enjoy bringing great food ideas to life, we would love to hear from you.
