The team Our Governance, Risk and Controls Advisory team provides strategic risk consulting and internal audit services to our clients which include health services, not‑for‑profit, corporate, financial services and local government sectors. Our reviews are a mix of both on‑site and remote fieldwork, producing high‑quality reports to document our findings. By understanding our client’s systems, objectives, risks, control frameworks and regulatory environments you will assist AFS in delivering a valuable product to improve the client’s risk profile. The role As a Graduate or Undergraduate in the Governance, Risk & Controls Advisory team, your role involves conducting the following responsibilities while being mentored and supported by our experienced team: Assisting in the development of risk‑based internal audit plans, including surveys, workshops, and identifying audit areas. Supporting risk assessments to pinpoint potential areas of risk. Participating in internal audit project planning and scoping. Executing internal audit procedures, from data analysis to evaluating controls and compliance. Preparing internal audit reports and communicating results to stakeholders. Conducting follow‑up audits to verify recommendation implementation. Building relationships with stakeholders and offering risk management guidance. Maintaining organised and confidential internal audit working papers. Engaging in quality assurance activities to uphold standards. Ensuring successful project delivery within scope and budget.
