The business is focused on a significant expansion goal: to double capacity over the next three years. This growth will be driven by more work from existing customers, new customers, and the introduction of new products. We value contribution and are looking for a key player to help us achieve our goals. The Opportunity We are seeking an experienced, results‑driven hands‑on Operations Manager to take on the overall responsibility for the daily operations and running of the business. This role is vital for driving efficiency, managing capacity, and ensuring all parts of the production and service lifecycle are executed flawlessly as we target significant business growth. You'll have the support of the wider business, who assist with finance, compliance, marketing & IT Systems. Key Responsibilities Oversee the full operational workflow from initial order to final delivery, managing staff, customer and supplier relationships. Manage the entire order lifecycle, including incoming order capture, review, production, and final delivery or pickup. Maintain effective customer communication throughout the order process. Build great relationships with customers and provide support to them in the most effective way. Take responsibility for Production Management , covering end‑to‑end process and documentation. Ensure the adequacy of tools and machines and maximise utilisation of existing machinery. Drive Process Improvement by identifying opportunities to streamline current processes and ensuring all processes are known and documented. Ensure safety and compliance is maintained at all times. Oversee Staff Management , ensuring the right team is in place, responsibilities are clear, and they are well trained. Support staff with technical insights and direction. Manage the day‑to‑day capacity of the team to meet production goals. Manage meeting cadence and internal communication. Manage Stock including ordering and stock taking to ensure stock is always on hand to fulfil orders. Build and maintain effective relationships with suppliers. Measures of Success Your performance will be measured against key business outcomes: Business Growth (both profit and sales). Customer and staff satisfaction and retention. Skills and Experience About you: Proven experience in a senior operational or general manager or leading hand role. Ideally you have experience in awning fabrication within a production or manufacturing environment. Strong experience in managing end‑to‑end production, inventory, and suppliers. Great customer and relationship skills. Strong computer/technology skills. Demonstrated ability to improve and document processes for efficiency gains. Exceptional staff management skills, including capacity planning, training, and team development. A "can‑do" attitude with a proven track record of achieving business growth and profitability targets. A willingness to do whatever is required.
