The Acute Inpatient Unit has an observation ward and a general acute ward to provide supervised care in hospital when community treatment is not possible. The Enrolled Nurse delivers high quality nursing care to patients/clients of the St George Mental Service consistent with SESLHD and St George Mental Health Service policies, procedures and standards. Holds a Nursing & Midwifery Board of Australia approved qualification in medicines administration. Ability to communicate effectively with patients, carers, other care providers, hospital clinicians, immediate team members and other stakeholders. Supports working in a person centred environment. Current professional practice knowledge base. Basic computer skills and proven ability to use health information systems. Demonstrated understanding of recovery principles and commitment to the philosophy and practice of consumer, family and carer participation and consumer focused care.
