Make a meaningful difference in the lives of children and families Part time 0.6 FTE permanent opportunity with a NFP organisation with location flexible depending on applicant $65.39 - $67.96 p/hr + Super + Salary Packaging up to $15,900 About the opportunity As an identified position, this role provides strong cultural leadership and strategic guidance to ensure our governance, policies, and practices are grounded in Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander perspectives. You will play a key role in shaping how we make decisions, ensuring cultural integrity, accountability, and respect for First Nations ways of knowing, being, and doing. Some interstate travel is required.Beyond offering advice, this is a transformational role - strengthening reconciliation, cultural safety, and ethical decision‑making across all levels of the organisation. About you - Key Selection Criteria: Demonstrated leadership in Aboriginal governance, cultural advisory, or community leadership roles. Strong knowledge of Aboriginal cultural protocols and reconciliation frameworks. Experience leading initiatives that strengthen reconciliation and cultural safety across organisations. Demonstrated capacity to embed Aboriginal perspectives into organisational strategy, planning, and policy development, influencing priorities and reconciliation commitments. Strong track record of building respectful, reciprocal relationships with Traditional Custodians, Elders, and Aboriginal communities, including facilitation of consultation processes. Excellent relationship‑building skills with diverse stakeholders, including sector partners, communities, and government. Capacity to mentor and build cultural capability across an organisation. Excellent communication, facilitation, and negotiation skills, with the ability to advocate for Aboriginal perspectives across diverse stakeholders and external forums. Ability to mentor and support staff and leaders in developing culturally safe and strong practice, including designing and delivering training programmes. Highly developed ability to provide culturally appropriate advice to clinicians and other professionals. Demonstrated capacity to lead and manage in an area of challenging and complex practice. Substantial experience in the area of child abuse, family violence and/or in working with traumatised children. Demonstrated capacity in leading and managing projects. A current Victorian driver's licence or equivalent. A current Working with Children check or equivalent.
