Overview The Care Economy Cooperative Research Centre (Care Economy CRC) is a national collaboration of researchers, technologists and care service providers working to drive innovation and deliver better care for Australians. The Role Reporting to the Chief Executive Officer, this role will coordinate the CRC’s research and extension activities to ensure the objectives of the CRC, the Commonwealth Funding Agreement and the CRC Partner Agreements are achieved. This role drives research operational excellence, broadly overseeing research, translation and commercialisation activities across the CRC while fostering collaboration and ensuring compliance. Key Areas of Responsibility Leadership Lead the collaborative research efforts of the CRC, including acting as the primary contact for partner engagement in research activity. Lead development and implementation of the CRC’s research, development and extension strategy, including leading operational elements such as research governance and processes, monitoring research performance, data governance, ethical standards and risk monitoring/mitigation. Working with the Research Leadership Team, guide the overall direction of the CRC’s research program so as best to achieve the CRC’s objectives and to position the CRC as a trusted collaborator developing person-centred and world-class research outcomes. Lead the establishment and management of the Care Workforce Advisory group, and facilitate their active involvement in CRC research activities. Support initiatives to grow research funding for the CRC and work with the CEO to identify new funding sources and collaboration opportunities to benefit the CRC. Finance & Operations Set clear processes, targets and objectives for the conduct of CRC research to ensure activities deliver value for CRC partners and achieve the Outcomes of the Commonwealth Funding Agreement. Provide operational oversight of all CRC’s research projects, highlighting risks and ensuring progress against objectives. Support all elements of research project development so that project budgets and activities are within the guidelines of the CRC and research projects deliver value for partners and members. Technical & Scientific Input - Other Areas Support the CEO in the development of the CRC strategy broadly, with significant responsibility for contributing to the research and development strategy. Provide input into the improvement of systems, processes, research, development and commercialisation functions. Provide technical and scientific input into the compilation of the CRC’s annual report for members, as well as all Commonwealth reports. Provide input into risk management and WHS management reporting processes of research projects and for the CRC more broadly. Who We're Looking For Skills Demonstrated track record of success in managing research in a complex and collaborative environment. Ability to exercise initiative, establish priorities and manage multiple projects within a research program. High-level analytical skills and demonstrated experience in solving complex problems requiring strategic thought and independent judgement. Highly developed interpersonal, communication and problem-solving skills, including the ability to consult, network and build relationships to achieve results. Proven ability to implement strategic research objectives into deliverable operational plans, resulting in high-performance teams. Well-developed skills and knowledge in technology commercialisation and research translation, including experience in intellectual property management. Experience At least 15 years experience in managing research to realise innovative outcomes. Experience working with a Cooperative Research Centre is advantageous. Qualifications Postgraduate (PhD) research qualifications in a care economy relevant discipline. #J-18808-Ljbffr
