Key Responsibilities include but are not limited to: dusting and polishing of furniture mopping, sweeping and vacuuming of floors, removal of rubbish cleaning bathrooms and toilets laundry services including distribution of clean laundry / personal attire bed making You will build relationships with our clients helping to understand their individual needs, goals and aspirations. You will also promote and enable our healthy and active ageing approach. A motor vehicle allowance is also payable for travel between clients. About you We are looking for people who will be the difference in the lives of our residents and clients. The successful candidate will have the following skills and experience: previous experience in a domestic assistant role that didn’t have direct supervision a basic understanding of the requirements to support clients living with dementia including those who display challenging behaviours current and unrestricted Australian driver’s licence (C class) & own registered and insured car current First Aid Certificate (HLTAID011) ability to organise own workload and to complete tasks within the time allocated exceptional interpersonal and relationship‑building skills a good level of English literacy including the ability to read written instructions and speak in a manner that older people can understand a basic knowledge of the requirements of the Aged Care Standards as applicable to the role About us Southern Cross Care is one of Australia’s leading charitable aged care, health and retirement living service providers.
