ABOUT THE ROLE & TEAM The Program Director is a key member of the Borders Team, working closely with customers to lead and deliver high‑impact programs that drive measurable business value. Reporting to the Project Portfolio Director, this role provides strategic direction, builds strong customer relationships, and ensures successful execution across complex initiatives. The Program Director collaborates with cross‑functional teams, aligns stakeholder expectations, and oversees program performance to ensure both customer satisfaction and organizational success. WHAT YOULL DO Program & Project Leadership Lead programs and large‑scale projects of varying scope and complexity, working closely with customers throughout the entire lifecycle from bidding and inception through execution and closure. Develop clear program and project plans that reflect customer needs, priorities, and expected outcomes. Provide strong governance and proactive leadership to manage work demands, risks, and interdependencies. Build capacity plans and negotiate through challenges or conflicts while maintaining alignment with customer objectives. Define and coordinate the technical infrastructure, resources, and logistics required to meet program scope and satisfy customer expectations. Customer Collaboration & Stakeholder Engagement Serve as the primary customer‑facing leader, ensuring open communication, trust, and alignment at all stages of the program. Partner with customer executives, sponsors, users, and vendors to ensure clarity of goals and shared understanding of progress, risks, and decisions. Communicate program vision, direction, and updates to Steering Committees and all internal and external stakeholders. Develop high‑level plans that guide Project Directors and Project Managers in delivering detailed execution in alignment with customer commitments. Foster strong, collaborative relationships with customer teams while representing the company with professionalism and credibility. Financial Accountability Balance customer satisfaction with fiscal responsibility, ensuring all program decisions support both customer success and company financial goals. Maintain full accountability for program P&L, ensuring financial targets, budgets, and forecasts are met. Manage primary, secondary, and subcontract suppliers, maintaining strong relationships while ensuring delivery performance aligns with customer and program requirements. Identify opportunities to improve customer value, optimize costs, and enhance overall program profitability. Qualifications ABOUT YOUR SKILLS 10+ years of progressive experience in program management, successfully leading initiatives of varying size, complexity, and deliverables within a commercial environment. Your background demonstrates a strong ability to effectively manage, forecast, and control large program budgets. You are highly confident presenting to and influencing senior executives and C‑level stakeholders. You bring extensive experience working with an IT solutions provider or within the airline industry, enabling you to understand customer needs and industry dynamics. Must be an Australian Citizen. Must be located in or willing to work from the Sydney office.
