Console Installer

Due to growth, we are seeking another Console Installer to join our team. As a member of our Control Room business, you will be part of a multi-discipline team that consults, designs, supplies & installs, and provides ongoing support to our clients’ control rooms. We support all major industries including Energy, Resources, Infrastructure, Emergency Services, Government, Transport, Defence and Space. The role is based at our Perth HQ (located near the International Airport) and will report to the Senior Console Technician.

The successful candidate will work closely with a small team to manufacture, assemble and deploy control room infrastructure such as operator consoles and video walls. This manufacturing process involves working with power tools in CADwalk’s Forrestfield workshop, interfacing with external suppliers, and assembling our finished products onsite at client sites in Perth metro area and remote sites. Our technical furniture is custom designed in-house and manufactured to strict engineering specifications; for this reason, projects are deployed within a quality management system. This role is mostly based in our Forrestfield workshop but some travel is expected up to 1 or 2 weeks at a time.

Travel expectations are between 10% and 20% but will vary depending on project need. Plenty of training will be provided to the right candidate. This role suits a candidate with some prior trade/workshop experience looking to get into new industries.

Key Responsibilities

Manufacture and assembly of premium quality control room operator consoles, videowalls and other technical items at CADwalk’s Forrestfield workshop. Installation of consoles and other control room equipment at client sites. Execute projects within the requirements of CADwalk’s quality management system. Adhere to CADwalk’s strict Health, Safety, Environment and Quality standards at all times.

Complete project management and quality tasks such as Inspection and Test Plan steps, Factory Acceptance Testing, pre-configuration and other project steps where required. Complete onsite (at client premises) works including install, cabling, configuration, SAT and transition to operations. Support the Project Management Office through effective and timely communications enabling resource and project planning/reporting to occur. Assist with managing materials receivals and dispatch.

Experience

and personal qualities: Read and interpret engineering drawings. Hands-on experience with power tools.

Experience

in a related role or trade desirable, manufacturing, assembly or installation of equipment, eg. Carpentry, machining, construction.

Experience

working with tier 1 clients is desirable but not essential.

Experience

working within quality management systems such as ISO9001 is desirable but not essential. Strong organizational skills, methodical mindset and attention to detail. Forklift license and construction white card desirable. Australian Citizenship is desirable, due to potential Defence related work and associated clearance requirements.
