Justice Health NSW is a state-wide, Board-governed Specialty Network delivering healthcare services to adults and young people who come into contact with, or who are at risk of coming into contact with, the criminal justice system. Our services operate across secure inpatient, custodial, court and community settings. The Role This Early Intervention clinician position supports a new initiative called the Cockatoo Project in Wagga Wagga, which partners with Youth Justice to provide specialist mental health care for young people at risk of entering the criminal justice system. Working within a multidisciplinary and state-wide collaborative framework, the role delivers early identification, assessment, intervention and consultation across school, community and telehealth settings. Key Responsibilities Delivering evidence-based early intervention programs including School-Link and Teen Got It Conducting comprehensive mental health assessments of young people and their families or carers Providing individual and group interventions via face-to-face and telehealth modalities Offering clinical consultation to key stakeholders including schools, CAMHS, Youth Justice and internal Justice Health teams Exercising independent professional judgement in complex clinical scenarios Providing clinical supervision to junior clinicians and students Contributing to service development, evaluation, research and quality improvement initiatives Maintaining outcome measures and reporting to support ongoing service evaluation This is a senior clinical role requiring strong leadership capability, advanced clinical expertise, and the ability to work autonomously within a brief, early-intervention model of care.
