Overview We are looking for a motivated and passionate Casual Commis Chef to join the PLG team at Glasshouse in Caulfield. You’ll focus on basic food preparation tasks, support experienced chefs, and maintain a clean and organised kitchen. This opportunity is ideal for kitchen professionals ready to kickstart their career The Caulfield Glasshouse is one of the best original pubs in Melbourne. With all day dining and plenty of entertainment available it is the perfect location for a day out with friends, to celebrate a special event, or a casual dinner. The Glasshouse has been awarded Best Sports Bar - Metropolitan at the 2025 AHA Awards. Pegasus Leisure Group (PLG) operates as part of The Melbourne Racing Club (MRC) and is recognised as a winner of The Australian Business Awards for Employer of Choice (2022, 2023 & 2024). What will my duties include? Prepare and cook menu as per cooking guidelines and set standards. Support senior chefs and kitchen staff with various tasks, including food assembly and plating. Ensure food safety procedures are followed. Maintain control and leadership in the kitchen during service times in allocated section. Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the workstation. Work in a fast-paced environment and assist with lifting boxes, kegs or stock, standing for long periods, and using stairs as needed. What we are looking for Hold a Certificate 3 or 4 in Commercial Cookery (or equivalent). Food Handlers Certificate. Experience working in a pub/bistro fast-paced environment. Understanding of fundamental cooking methods and recipe execution. Willingness to work various shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
