As a Geotechnical Engineer, you’ll play a key role in guiding project direction through detailed ground investigations, analysis, and design for infrastructure and building projects. The Opportunity Plan and manage site investigations, laboratory testing, and associated health and safety requirements Conduct geotechnical analysis and design (e.g. foundations, retention systems, earthworks, seismic assessments) for buildings and infrastructure projects Interpret ground conditions and prepare technical reports and geotechnical documentation Collaborate with engineers, project teams, and clients to deliver high‑quality, fit‑for‑purpose geotechnical solutions Mentor junior staff and contribute to team development and client relationship building Qualifications A degree in Civil Engineering (preferably with or working towards a Master Geotechnical Engineering) and eligibility for chartership Typically, 3‑4 years’ experience in geotechnical engineering with sound knowledge of the Sydney ground conditions Strong experience planning, managing and delivering field investigations on site and associated reporting Some exposure to doing geotechnical design (e.g. foundations, retaining walls or slopes) or scoping investigations to address design needs/adjust scope to investigations to respond to encountered conditions on site Strong communication, report writing and stakeholder engagement skills What We Offer You At Arup, we care about each member’s success, so we can grow together.
