Project Manager

Job Requirements About You We are currently seeking an experienced Project Manager to drive our HUGS2 project from concept through Front-End Engineering and Design (FEED) and into full execution. In this pivotal role, you’ll lead the next stage of Iona’s growth. Success in this role requires an effective project delivery capability and a strong understanding of project regulatory approvals in Victoria. The successful candidate will also have a good understanding of operational, commercial and customer requirements that will need to be considered in developing and executing an expansion of Iona. This is a permanent position for a highly motivated Project Manager who will ensure safety, quality and stakeholder management are imbedded in how the project is developed and delivered. What you’ll be doing You will lead and coordinate a multidisciplinary team to successfully deliver the project objectives. Proactive identification and management of risks and issues will be essential, supported by timely and accurate reporting to the Lochard Leadership Team. You will build and maintain effective working relationships with regulators and other external stakeholders. Collaboration with Lochard’s Commercial and Operations teams will be critical to shaping the project during this phase and implementing strategies that position it for successful execution. The project will be developed and delivered in alignment with Lochard’s Project Delivery Framework and governance requirements. This includes monitoring progress across all development phases, ensuring adherence to approved budgets and schedules, and effectively managing project changes. Job Responsibilities Project Accountabilities Manage project progress during development phases to approved budget and schedule with effective change management in accordance with Lochard processes. Lead the team and co-ordinate activities across the team through the Development phases and into Execution. Ensure the HUGS2 project is developed and managed in accordance with Lochard’s Project Delivery Framework. Ensure project risks and issues are proactively identified and managed. Provide monthly reporting to the Lochard Leadership Team. Develop and maintain a strong working relationship with the Lochard Commercial and Iona Operations/engineering teams. Represent Lochard to regulators, First Nations and other key external stakeholders. Engage with other infrastructure owners in collaboration with the commercial team and other project leads. What you need Bachelor of Engineering in a related discipline (process, electrical, mechanical). Well-developed project management skills ideally in the energy industry. Proven ability to manage multi-discipline project teams and manage external contractors such as engineering, approvals and other specialists. Understanding of key measures of project commercial viability (NPV, IRR, etc). Excellent communication, personal and interpersonal skills. At least 10 years’ experience in hydrocarbon, process plant or power generation asset from a project management or engineering perspective. Experience managing a project with complex approvals, land access and stakeholder management. Project development and delivery experience across the project lifecycle from concept through to operation. Strong IT skills with MS office package (Teams, Excel, PowerPoint, Word). Experience assessing opportunities from a commercial perspective highly regarded.
